Placements24 is seeking a driven Business Development Manager to spearhead growth initiatives in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, within the insurance sector. The role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and expanding market share through proactive client engagement and relationship management.

You will lead development of strategic plans, nurture key stakeholder relationships, and collaborate with underwriting, claims, and marketing teams to deliver winning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the insurance industry.
• Proven track record of successfully meeting and exceeding sales targets.
• Strong understanding of various insurance products and services.
• Excellent networking, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to develop and implement effective business strategies.
• Proficiency in CRM software and sales management tools.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, with a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve sales targets and expand market presence in Durban.
• Identify and prospect new clients, intermediaries, and strategic partners within the insurance industry.
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
• Develop and present compelling sales proposals and presentations tailored to client needs.
• Negotiate contract terms and conditions to secure profitable business.
• Collaborate with internal teams (underwriting, claims, marketing) to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
• Track and report on sales activities, pipeline, and performance metrics.
