Placements24 in Durban seeks a Senior Grid Integration Specialist to lead the integration of renewables into South Africa's power grid. You will develop technical standards, operating procedures, and analytical tools to ensure stability, reliability, and security.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) with 7+ years’ experience in power system analysis and grid interconnection studies, and is proficient in PSS/E, DIgSILENT, and PSCAD.

Qualifications

Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems).
7+ years in power system analysis or grid integration in electricity utilities.
Strong knowledge of stability, control, and grid codes.
Experience with interconnection studies and regulatory processes.
Proficiency with PSS/E, DIgSILENT, PSCAD.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain grid integration studies (power flow, short circuit, stability, dynamic analyses).
Define technical requirements for connecting new generation facilities to the grid.
Analyze grid data to identify stability, voltage, and frequency issues.
Propose upgrades to grid infrastructure for reliability and future demand.
Collaborate with developers, regulators, and stakeholders on grid connection agreements.
