Placements24 seeks a Lead Grid Integration Specialist based in Cape Town, Western Cape. You will drive the integration of renewable energy into the national grid, oversee complex projects, and ensure compliance with SA grid codes while leading a team of engineers.

The role requires a Master’s in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) with 10+ years in power systems, including 5+ years in grid integration and renewables. Strong stakeholder management and strategic thinking are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Power Systems.
• At least 10 years in power systems engineering, with 5+ years focused on grid integration and renewables.
• In-depth knowledge of grid codes and interconnection standards in SA.
• Proven leadership of engineering teams and complex projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for integrating renewables into the grid.
• Analyze grid stability, power flow, and fault levels for safe operation.
• Collaborate with regulators and stakeholders to ensure compliance with grid codes.
• Lead studies on grid impact, capacity, and enhancements.
• Manage projects on grid modernization, smart grids, and demand-side management.
• Provide expert advice on interconnection and power purchase agreements.
• Mentor and guide a team of engineers in grid integration.
• Represent the company in industry forums and technical groups.
