Job summary

Riseup Management in Durban seeks a seasoned Dispatch Supervisor to lead the daily dispatch operations and ensure timely deliveries. You will supervise the dispatch team, coordinate goods receipt and dispatch, and uphold accurate GRVs and stock records.

Requirements include Matric with Mathematics, 23+ years in dispatch/logistics, strong computer literacy, and excellent communication. You will plan routes, liaise with drivers and warehouse staff, and optimise local and long-distance deliveries

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and manage the daily activities of the dispatch team.
• Receive incoming goods and ensure deliveries are checked, recorded, and processed.
• Complete and process GRVs accurately and ensure goods match documentation.
• Coordinate accurate and timely dispatch of customer orders.
• Plan and schedule local and long-distance deliveries to optimise routes.
• Coordinate with drivers and dispatch staff to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Provide exceptional customer service by resolving dispatch issues.
• Liaise with customers, drivers, warehouse staff, and management.
• Monitor loading and dispatching of goods for accuracy and safety.

Minimum Requirements:

Matric / Grade 12 with Mathematics . Minimum 23 years experience in a dispatch, logistics, warehouse, or distribution environment . Strong computer literacy and ability to work with relevant dispatch and administrative systems. Good knowledge of local and long-distance routes for effective delivery planning. Previous experience coordinating and planning deliveries. Experience with receiving and dispatching goods and customer orders. Ability to complete GRVs (Goods Received Vouchers) accurately. Good stock control and stock-taking experience. Strong customer service and communication skills. Excellent organisational and time-management abilities. Previous experience supervising or managing a dispatch team.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise, coordinate, and manage the daily activities of the dispatch team. Receive incoming goods and ensure that deliveries are checked, recorded, and processed correctly. Complete and process GRVs accurately and ensure received goods correspond with relevant documentation. Coordinate the accurate and timely dispatch of customer orders. Plan and schedule local and long-distance deliveries according to customer requirements, delivery priorities, vehicle availability, and route efficiency. Utilise knowledge of local and long-distance routes to develop effective delivery schedules and minimise delays and unnecessary travelling time. Coordinate with drivers and dispatch staff to ensure that deliveries are completed efficiently and on schedule. Provide exceptional customer service by responding to customer queries and resolving dispatch and delivery-related issues professionally. Liaise with customers, drivers, warehouse staff, and management to ensure smooth coordination of orders and deliveries. Monitor the loading and dispatching of goods to ensure orders are accurate, properly prepared, and dispatched safely.
