Job summary

Exceed Human Resource Consultants seeks a Dispatch Supervisor to oversee the afternoon dispatch team in Johannesburg. You will ensure orders are loaded accurately and dispatched on time, coordinating drivers and helpers and training new staff.

The role requires strong leadership, stock control knowledge, and adherence to food safety and health standards. You will work 14:00-23:00, supporting efficient distribution and inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a dispatch, warehouse, or logistics supervisory role.
• Computer literate with good administrative skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Good understanding of stock control, dispatch procedures, and inventory management.
• Knowledge of food safety, quality assurance, and health and safety practices.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Own reliable vehicle.
• Willingness to work the afternoon shift (14:00-23:00).

Responsibilities

• Supervise the afternoon dispatch team to ensure orders are loaded accurately and dispatched on time.
• Coordinate drivers and loading assistants, monitor attendance, and provide training to new team members.
• Verify invoices, loading documentation, product quality, weights, labels, and packaging before dispatch.
• Maintain stock accuracy by identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies and assisting with month-end stock takes.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, health and safety, and housekeeping standards throughout the dispatch area.
• Monitor dispatch equipment and vehicles to ensure they are clean, well-maintained, and operational.
• Work closely with the Dispatch Manager to improve workflow efficiency, minimise product damage, and achieve daily dispatch targets.
