Job summary

Fusion Personnel is seeking an experienced logistics leader to oversee daily dispatch operations and lead a team of about 70 staff.

The role focuses on planning delivery schedules, optimizing fleet utilisation (approx. 40 trucks) and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and safety standards. You will report to the Business Manager and Directors and drive continuous improvements across the dispatch function.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years' experience in logistics, dispatch or warehouse management.
• Experience managing a large dispatch operation and a fleet of approximately 40 trucks.
• Experience managing a large team of approximately 70 employees.
• Manufacturing, FMCG or distribution industry experience is highly advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily dispatch operations, ensuring all customer deliveries are completed accurately, safely and on time.
• Lead, motivate and supervise a team of approximately 70 employees across the dispatch department.
• Plan and optimise delivery schedules, fleet utilisation and resource allocation to maximise operational efficiency.
• Coordinate daily dispatch activities, route planning and communication with drivers and internal departments.
• Oversee loading activities, quality inspections and dispatch documentation to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Monitor inventory accuracy, returned stock and dispatch records.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO 9001 quality standards, health and safety regulations and operational procedures.
• Monitor fleet performance, vehicle availability and operational efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve delivery issues, customer queries and operational challenges.
• Prepare operational reports and analyse dispatch performance to identify areas for continuous improvement.
• Work closely with the night shift management team to ensure an effective shift handover and uninterrupted operations.
• Report directly to the Business Manager and Directors.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 8–10 years' experience in logistics, dispatch or warehouse management.
• Proven experience managing a large dispatch operation and a fleet of vehicles (approximately 40 trucks).
• Experience managing large teams (approximately 70 employees).
• Manufacturing, FMCG or distribution industry experience is highly advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of ERP systems with the ability to quickly learn an in-house warehouse management system.
• Good understanding of ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Experience working within a unionised environment will be advantageous.
• Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Stable employment history with no frequent job changes.
• Valid driver's licence.
