Job summary

Blacksmith Agency seeks a Head of Performance Marketing to lead the PPC and SEO teams, owning channel strategy and budgets as accounts scale. You will guide the strategists who execute the plans and ensure the department delivers measurable results for clients.

This is a management seat, not a senior IC role. You will own audits, reporting standards, client-facing conversations, and the overall quality bar for the department.

Qualifications

• 7+ years across paid media and SEO. Owning one channel while sitting beside the other does not count here.
• Depth in Google Ads, GA4, Search Console, Meta and Microsoft Ads to tell good work from work that merely looks good.
• Comfortable being the client-facing owner when an account is underperforming.

Responsibilities

• Own the quality bar for the department and set audits and reporting standards.
• Lead the PPC and SEO strategists, reviewing their work and making calls when performance diverges.
• Own client results across the function, ensure reporting accuracy and attribution integrity.
• Handle escalation when an account is at risk and direct the strategist to fix it.
• Define channel strategy and budget allocation as accounts scale.
• Participate in sales conversations to credibly promise deliverables and plan hiring for the department.
