Job summary

Blue Spec Holdings invites applications for a Desktop Vehicle Assessor based in Gauteng (JHB West Rand). This office-based role involves desktop-only vehicle assessments to determine repair/replace decisions and vehicle values for settlement, with reporting and stakeholder liaison responsibilities.

Key requirements include Matric/Grade 12 and 4+ years in motor assessing/estimating, plus strong technical knowledge of vehicle components. Abuntex or Smart Quote experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12.
• 4+ years’ experience in motor assessing or estimating.
• Strong technical knowledge of vehicle components and repair processes.
• Desktop assessing experience advantageous.
• Proficiency in Abuntex and/or Smart Quote advantageous.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess vehicle damage against provided or requested quotations via desktop review.
• Determine whether to repair, replace parts, or use aftermarket spares (where applicable).
• Evaluate and validate claims in line with company standards and guidelines.
• Generate detailed and accurate claims assessment reports.
• Determine the market value of vehicles for settlement purposes.
• Capture notes, process claims, and upload supporting documents on internal systems.
• Approve and sign off on additional repairs where required.
• Handle queries, complaints, and liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure turnaround times and service level agreements are consistently met.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to assess and determine the quantum and merit of segmented motor claims through desktop-based vehicle assessments. This is an office-based position and does not require physical vehicle inspections.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess vehicle damage against provided or requested quotations via desktop review.
• Determine whether to repair, replace parts, or use aftermarket spares (where applicable).
• Evaluate and validate claims in line with company standards and guidelines.
• Generate detailed and accurate claims assessment reports.
• Determine the market value of vehicles for settlement purposes.
