Job summary

P&L is seeking a General Assistant (Internal Applications Only) to ensure comprehensive customer service in the store, assist with loading and merchandising of stock, and maintain shelf price labeling.

The role requires Grade 12 or related experience, good English and local language skills, basic math, and the ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays, all while upholding safety and accuracy in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or at least 1 year of related experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language in the area.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge customers and determine their needs.
• Advise customers on products and answer queries.
• Assist customers with product queries and complaints.
• Assist with add-on sales (e.g., related items).
• Load purchases efficiently and ensure items are not damaged during handling.
• Ensure shelf price labelling is accurate within the area of responsibility.
• Maintain clean and safe customer aisles and assist with stock merchandising.
• Identify display gaps and report to management.
• Comply with safety requirements and store policies.
