Job summary

P&L General Assistant is responsible for delivering comprehensive customer service in-store, loading and merchandising stock, labeling shelf prices and housekeeping in the assigned area.

Requirements include Grade 12 or 1 year related experience, fluency in English and local language, basic arithmetic, and willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays; ability to work under pressure is essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or 1 year related experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken where the position is available.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Must be able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge all Customers and determine their needs.
• Advise Customers correctly on product.
• Assist Customer with any product queries.
• Assist with Customer complaints timely.
• Add on sales, e.g. paint vs. paint brushes, thinners, etc.
• Ensure efficient Customer service by loading purchases without delays.
• Ensure purchases are loaded carefully to avoid damage.
• Advise on additional services: delivery, glass cutting, plan reading, credit programmes, special orders, trusses, distant ordering, VIC Customer Programme.
• Must be certified in Product Knowledge.
• Be present in assigned aisle and keep area free of obstacles.
