Job summary

P&L in Louis Trichardt is seeking an enthusiastic Counter Sales person to assist customers, process sales, and maintain a tidy counter and showroom. You will monitor stock levels and restock merchandise as needed, while ensuring accurate payments and friendly service.

The role requires Grade 12/NQF4, 1 year sales experience in hardware retail, and willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Carpentry experience is a plus and product knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications.
• 1 year sales experience in a hardware retail, wholesale or similar environment
• 1 year carpentry experience would be advantageous
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Well developed problem solving and analytical skills
• Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and Public Holidays.
• Must be able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Accurate processing of order requests received from customers.
• Accurate processing of sales made by customers.
• Accurate receipt of payments received and related banking processes.
• Provide reliable, prompt Customer Service.
• Advise customers correctly on product.
• Assist customer with any product queries.
• Assist with customer complaints timely.
• Must be available in area of responsibility.
• Assist in other departments as and when required.
• Product knowledge on all products and services offered.
• Assist with packing stock away as per allocated bins.
• Ensure stock is merchandised immediately after being received.
• Ensure sales counters are kept free of stock and presented nicely.
• Safety (OHSA) compliance within area of responsibility.
• Stock in area of responsibility merchandised safely.
• Be aware of suspicious behaviours or people and report suspicions to Management.
• No product to be loaded for a customer without proof of purchase or required documentation.
