Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in social work, counseling, or community support.
• Knowledge of social welfare policies, resources and referral pathways in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments for individuals and families seeking social support in Klerksdorp.
• Provide counseling and emotional support to clients facing personal or financial difficulties.
• Assist clients in accessing relevant social services, government grants, and community resources.
• Develop and implement individual support plans with clients.
• Facilitate referrals to healthcare, housing, legal aid, and employment services.
• Organize and deliver workshops on life skills, parenting, financial literacy, and more.
• Maintain confidential case files and client records.
• Monitor client progress and follow up to ensure ongoing support.
• Liaise with community organizations and government agencies to coordinate support.
• Respond to crisis situations and provide immediate referrals.
• Promote awareness of available social support services.
