Placements24 seeks a Community Mobilization Officer in Vereeniging, Gauteng, to empower local communities and drive development projects. You will bridge residents and partners, understand local needs, build trust, and encourage active participation in initiatives.

The role is field-based, requiring strong communication, collaboration with local leaders, and ability to organize meetings, assess needs, and promote programs. A relevant qualification and 3+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in community development or related field focusing on mobilization.
• Proven experience facilitating community meetings and diverse groups.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Strong knowledge of Gauteng community dynamics.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in Vereeniging.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Vereeniging area.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Sciences or Development Studies.
• Fluency in local languages spoken in Vereeniging.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to mobilize community participation in Vereeniging.
• Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and public forums.
• Identify community leaders and build relationships with them.
