About the Role

Our client, a leading charitable organization committed to (specific cause, e.g., improving access to education) in the Vereeniging, Gauteng area, is seeking a passionate and experienced Community Program Officer. This role is instrumental in planning, implementing, and monitoring community-based projects that directly benefit the local population. You will work closely with community members, local leaders, and partner organizations to ensure program relevance, effectiveness, and sustainability. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of community development principles, excellent project management skills, and a genuine commitment to social impact in Gauteng. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and manage community development projects aligned with organizational goals.
• Conduct needs assessments and identify priority areas for intervention within the community.
• Facilitate community participation and engagement in project design and implementation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, local government, and partner NGOs.
• Monitor project progress, collect data, and prepare regular progress reports.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in community development, project management, or social work, preferably within the Gauteng region.
• Proven experience in project planning, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.
• Strong understanding of community dynamics and participatory approaches.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and build consensus.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management software.
• Experience in report writing and data collection.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Vereeniging area.
