Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Project Officer to manage community development initiatives in Polokwane. You will plan, execute, and monitor projects, coordinating with beneficiaries and local partners to deliver tangible community benefits.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or Development Studies and at least 3 years of project management in the non-profit sector, plus strong stakeholder engagement and field-based work experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management or coordination within the non-profit sector.
• Proven experience in community engagement and stakeholder management.
• Strong understanding of community development principles and practices.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a field-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute community development projects from inception to completion.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets efficiently.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, local leaders, and partner organizations.
• Collect data and prepare regular progress reports for management and stakeholders.
• Ensure project activities align with organizational objectives and the needs of the Polokwane community.
• Facilitate community meetings and workshops to gather input and ensure participation.
