Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Community Development Officer to foster positive growth and engagement within the Upington community in the Northern Cape. The successful candidate will identify community needs, develop relevant projects, and mobilize local resources to improve social and economic conditions.

You will work closely with residents, local government, and NGOs to implement sustainable development initiatives, monitor impact, and report on outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or related field.
• Experience in community engagement or project management.
• Strong understanding of community dynamics and development principles.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and with diverse groups.
• Knowledge of local government structures and funding landscapes is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct community needs assessments and identify development priorities.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement community development projects.
