Bravo Brands is lookingfor a Commercial Manager to develop and execute the commercial strategy for thelinen, sheets, pillows and duvet categories, driving profitable revenue growth,market share expansion, product innovation, customer satisfaction, and branddevelopment across retail, wholesale, hospitality and e-commerce channels.

Key responsibilities
Commercial and category strategy
- Develop and implement thecommercial strategy in line with the company objectives and brand strategy.
- Translate market opportunities,consumer needs, emerging trends and competitor activity into annual categoryplans, budgets and growth priorities.
- Determine the right product,customer and channel mix to support sustainable growth and profitability.
- Drivesales growth and profitability across all product categories.
- Identifymarket opportunities, emerging trends, and consumer insights.
Product portfolio and innovation
- Manage the portfolio across bedlinen, sheets, pillow ranges, duvets, mattress protectors and beddingaccessories.
- Identify product gaps andinnovation opportunities, lead product-development initiatives and guideproduct positioning.
- Manage product lifecycles fromlaunch to discontinuation and improve category SKU productivity.
Sales and customer development
- Build and maintain strategicrelationships with key retail, wholesale and hospitality customers.
- Negotiate tradingterms, pricing, promotions, service levels and annual commercial agreements.
- Develop customer category plans,secure new business and maintain a healthy pipeline across existing and newchannels.
- Support the sales team indelivering volume, revenue and profitability targets.
Pricing and commercialprofitability
- Set and manage pricingstrategies that support market competitiveness and margin objectives.
- Conduct profitability analysis bycustomer, channel and product.
- Monitor costs and competitor pricing, and act onmargin-improvement opportunities.
- Ensure category gross profit andcontribution targets are achieved.
Forecasting budgets andperformance
- Prepare annual budgets andcommercial forecasts, including accurate sales and demand forecasts.
- Monitor performance againstbudget and prior-year results and lead regular commercial performance reviews.
- Identify opportunities toenhance revenue, improve returns and reduce costs, and keep top managementinformed of material changes.
Supply chain and inventoryperformance
- Partner with Operations,Procurement, Planning and Supply Chain to align demand, supply and inventorydecisions.
- Improve stock availability,service levels, forecast accuracy and inventory turns while minimisingstock-outs, excess inventory and slow-moving stock.
Brand and marketing development
- Collaborate with Marketing onpromotional campaigns, product launches, customer events and digitalinitiatives.
- Develop clear value propositionsand product stories that communicate the brand promise and respond to customerand consumer needs.
- Monitor local and internationaltrends to identify opportunities for innovation, market expansion andcommercial growth.
Team leadership and commercialgovernance
- Leadand develop commercial and category team members.
- Establishperformance objectives and development plans.
- Promotea high-performance culture ofaccountability, customer focus and delivery.
- Coachand mentor team members.
- Maintainstrong commercial governance and customer information by ensuring sales,customer and commercial records are accurate and continually updated,
- Maintaining regular engagement with key customers and ensuring relevantcommercial developments, risks and opportunities are communicated to TopManagement.
Requirements
- A relevant three-year bachelor'sdegree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, Retail Management or a related fieldat NQF Level 7 is essential.
- An MBA or equivalentpostgraduate business qualification would be advantageous.
- Eight to ten years' relevantexperience in a commercial, category management, marketing, brand or salesenvironment, with demonstrated responsibility for strategy, customer managementand business growth.
- At least five years' relevantkey-account management experience calling on retail buyers and head offices inlinen, top-of-bed, home-textile or closely related categories.
- A proven record of growingrevenue and gross profit, managing pricing and margins, and negotiating withmajor customers.
- Practical experience in productor category management, budgeting, commercial analysis, forecasting and demandplanning.
- Experience in bedding, hometextiles, FMCG, retail or manufacturing would be highly advantageous.
- Strong strategic thinking,commercial judgement, negotiation, customer orientation, problem-solving,innovation, communication and relationship-management capability, with thewillingness to travel locally when required.
