Job summary

HirePro is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager for an upmarket seaside restaurant in the Western Cape. You will manage stock, costs, cash-ups, rosters and reporting, while also running the floor and leading the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service.

The role combines admin and guest-facing leadership, requiring strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in restaurant management.
• Strong admin skills and ability to run the operational side.
• Experience with stock control, cost control, cash-ups and reporting.
• Confident with POS systems and spreadsheets.
• Knowledge of labour costs and rostering.
• Organised, detail-driven and process-oriented.
• Willing to relocate to the town.

Responsibilities

• Admin and Operations: Manage stock control, ordering, stock takes and supplier relationships; Oversee daily cash-ups, banking and reconciliations; Control costs, wastage and margins, and track performance against budget; Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports for the owners; Build staff rosters and manage wages, leave and labour costs; Handle staff admin, including contracts, records, warnings and HR procedures; Ensure health, safety, hygiene and liquor licence compliance; Set up and maintain standard operating procedures and checklists.
• Floor and Team: Run the floor during service and step in where needed; Recruit, train and manage the front of house team; Handle guest feedback and resolve complaints professionally; Work closely with the kitchen so service runs smoothly; Plan for busy holiday and peak season periods.
