Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Engineer to join our client in Tembisa, Gauteng. The role focuses on cloud security, protecting cloud infrastructure and data across AWS, Azure and GCP.

You will design, deploy and maintain security controls to counter sophisticated threats. The ideal candidate has 4–6 years in information security, with at least 2 years in cloud security, and hands-on experience with major cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Cybersecurity or related field.
• 4–6 years of information security experience, with 2+ years in cloud security.
• Hands-on with AWS, Azure, or GCP and cloud security controls.
• Scripting with Python or Terraform for automating tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage security solutions for cloud environments.
• Develop and enforce cloud security policies and standards.
• Conduct security assessments of cloud infrastructure.
• Implement monitoring and logging to detect incidents.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines with dev teams.
• Stay updated on cloud security threats and mitigate.
• Respond to cloud security incidents with containment and recovery.
• Provide guidance and training on cloud security best practices.
