Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer focused on Cloud Security to design and manage robust cloud security across AWS, Azure, and GCP. This fully remote role in South Africa emphasizes IaC, threat modeling, and automated security deployments within CI/CD pipelines.

You will collaborate with engineering teams to embed security into development, deployment, and operations, while staying current on cloud security threats and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years in cybersecurity with at least 4 years in cloud security engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP security services.
• Proficiency with IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Strong scripting (Python, Bash) for automation.
• Certs such as AWS Security-Specialty, Azure Security Engineer are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design security architecture for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop and enforce cloud security policies and best practices.
• Implement and manage IAM, security groups, WAFs, and encryption.
• Automate security deployments with Terraform/CloudFormation/Ansible.
• Conduct threat modeling, vulnerability management, and incident response.
