Job summary

Placements24 is hiring an Information Security Engineer for a client’s security operations center in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will design and maintain cloud security controls across AWS, Azure, and GCP, focusing on secure architectures and compliance.

Key duties include implementing IAM and encryption measures, automating security in CI/CD, and leading incident response in cloud environments. The role offers hybrid remote flexibility and growth via certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Cloud security certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP) are a strong advantage.
• Minimally 4 years of information security engineering experience with cloud focus.
• Experience securing major cloud platforms and IaC tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security architectures for cloud platforms.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures for cloud environments.
• Deploy and manage cloud-native security tools and monitor for threats.
• Conduct security audits and compliance checks in cloud infrastructure.
• Respond to security incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Automate security processes using scripting and IaC tools.
• Collaborate with development to embed security in CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide guidance on cloud security best practices and new technologies.
