Job summary

Standard Bank Group seeks an experienced Universal Banker to join the branch team. The role focuses on engaging clients, assessing needs and delivering appropriate banking solutions while meeting regulatory and FAIS requirements.

You will promote products, open and manage accounts, and ensure compliant, quality service across all banking channels. Experience in a regulated, customer-facing environment is essential.

Qualifications

• FAIS fit and proper requirements.
• 3–4 years’ experience in branch banking or client-facing sales.
• Proven sales track record with cross-selling and meeting targets.
• Strong understanding of banking products and account opening processes.

Responsibilities

• Engage clients across branch and related channels to understand needs and provide appropriate banking solutions.
• Identify sales opportunities through client conversations and promote relevant products.
• Open, amend, transfer and close client accounts in line with procedures and compliance.
• Assess client needs by reviewing conduct and information to provide informed recommendations.
• Educate clients on banking processes, digital functionality and their rights.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to a high-performing branch environment.
