Job summary

Standard Bank of South Africa is seeking an experienced Universal Banker to support sales, service and customer experience in a branch and Local Market environment. You will engage Personal, Prestige and Private Banking clients, address needs, and resolve requests in a one‑and‑done manner.

The role involves collaborating with the Universal Banking Team Leader to drive Local Market initiatives, identify growth opportunities and promote banking solutions while maintaining a compliant and efficient

Qualifications

• NQF Level 5 FAIS-aligned qualification in a field linked to the role (Commerce/Banking/Finance).
• Must meet FAIS Fit and Proper requirements.
• FAIS Representative status is required, or ability to operate under supervision.
• A valid driver’s license is advantageous for Local Market travel.
• 3 to 4 years’ experience in branch banking, frontline banking or client service.
• Good understanding of banking products, account processes and client onboarding.
• Experience engaging clients to understand financial needs and provide banking solutions.
• Knowledge of risk, compliance and regulatory requirements including FAIS and KYC.
• Ability to work in a target-driven environment and support sales/service objectives.

Responsibilities

• Engage with clients across branch and digital channels to understand needs and resolve queries.
• Open and maintain accounts and deliver a consistent client experience per procedures.
• Support Local Market initiatives by identifying client opportunities and assisting sales.
• Promote relevant banking products and services and encourage digital channels.
• Apply risk, compliance and regulatory requirements in all client interactions.
• Contribute to a high-performing team culture and share insights.
