Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Production Shift Supervisor to oversee operations at a chemical manufacturing site in Vereeniging, Gauteng. This on-site role requires leading a team of production operators to meet targets safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards during the assigned shift.

You will manage daily production floor activities. You will coordinate with maintenance, quality control, and logistics, provide coaching and training, conduct shift handovers, and uphold

Qualifications

• Requires a National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory/leadership role within chemical manufacturing.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a production team.
• Strong understanding of chemical processes and plant operations.
• Excellent knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations in the chemical industry.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a team of production operators during assigned shifts.
• Ensure all production activities are conducted safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Monitor production performance, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to meet targets.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and operational discipline on the plant floor.
• Ensure adherence to quality control procedures and product specifications.
• Coordinate with maintenance, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Provide training and coaching to team members to enhance skills and performance.
• Conduct shift handovers and maintain accurate production records.
• Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a strong safety culture.
