Placements24 in Randburg invites a skilled Chemical Engineer specializing in Plant Design to join our team. In this hybrid role you will drive the design and engineering of new chemical plants and modify existing facilities, from concept to detailed design, collaborating with internal teams and external consultants.

You will apply expertise in P&ID development, equipment specification, and safety standards to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient processing solutions, with on-site collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of experience in chemical plant design and engineering.
• Proficiency with P&ID development and HAZOP studies.

Responsibilities

• Develop P&IDs for new and existing plants.
• Specify process equipment: reactors, pumps, heat exchangers, distillation columns.
• Perform process design calculations and simulations.
• Ensure designs comply with safety, environmental standards, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines during design.
• Prepare technical specs and bid packages for equipment procurement.
