Staff Connection - Hospitality Recruitment and Executive Search is seeking a hands-on Shopping Centre Operations Manager for the East Rand region. The role focuses on day-to-day centre operations, facilities maintenance and ensuring tenant satisfaction, reporting to management in Gauteng.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in operations management, 10+ years in shopping centre operations, and proven leadership of staff and contractors.

SHOPPING CENTRE OPERATIONS MANAGER | EAST RAND REGION

Are you an experienced Shopping Centre Operations professional who is hands‑on, maintenance savvy and thrives in a fast‑paced environment?

We are looking for a seasoned Operations Manager to take responsibility for the day‑to‑day operational management of shopping centres based in the East Rand.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day‑to‑day operations and facilities of the shopping centres.
• Manage all maintenance, repairs and operational requirements, ensuring the centre is well maintained and fully operational.
• Build and maintain strong, professional tenant relationships, addressing operational queries and ensuring a high level of tenant satisfaction.
• Manage and oversee staff, contractors and service providers.
• Monitor maintenance schedules, compliance, health & safety and general centre standards.
• Identify operational issues proactively and ensure they are resolved efficiently.
• Work closely with tenants, contractors and management to ensure the smooth running of the centre.
• Maintain accurate operational records and ensure all administrative requirements are kept up to date.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Operations Management or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in a Shopping Centre Operations Management role.
• Strong maintenance and facilities knowledge – you need to be hands‑on and maintenance savvy.
• Proven experience in staff management and contractor supervision.
• Strong tenant management and relationship‑building skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong computer literacy and confidence working with various systems.
• Own vehicle is essential.
• Candidates must be based in or around the East Rand and be comfortable working at shopping centres in the area.
