Placements24 is seeking a Catering Team Leader to manage on-site event execution in Stellenbosch, South Africa. You will lead a team during events, ensure efficient service and client satisfaction, and act as the primary on-ground contact for setup, service and breakdown.

The ideal candidate has supervisory hospitality experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure during high-volume events. Flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, are required.

About the Role

This role involves leading a team of catering staff during events, ensuring efficient service, client satisfaction, and adherence to company standards. You will be the primary point of contact on the ground during service, responsible for setup, guest service, and breakdown. The ideal candidate is a natural leader with excellent interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for hospitality, eager to take on responsibility and ensure the success of every event they oversee.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate catering staff during event service, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Oversee event setup, including table settings, buffet arrangements, and beverage stations, according to event plans.
• Manage guest service delivery, ensuring a positive and professional experience for all attendees.
• Address and resolve any immediate issues or client requests that arise during the event.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth food and beverage service.
• Supervise event breakdown and cleanup, ensuring the venue is left in pristine condition.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role within the hospitality or catering industry.
