This 8-month contract position involves overseeing and maintaining the quality of all activities and products within the Butc hery Departments of OK Franchise, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards across the region. It includes managing regional stock levels, driving and coordinating promotional initiatives, and monitoring sales performance. Additionally, the position requires handling all people management functions for the region and completing the necessary administrative duties to support operational efficiency.
What you'll do
To control and monitor the quality of all activities and produce
- Monitor compliance with standardized brand image
- Monitor compliance with packing standards
- Monitor cutting standards
- Monitor client satisfaction and handle escalated queries and complaints
To manage all stock in the Region
- Ensure proper stock rotation: FIFO (First In First Out)
- Maintain 3 days of stock holding
- Determine stock needs based on current stock levels
- Order stock according to stock needs for Region
- Transfer stock when necessary
- Perform surprise stock take check
- Oversee production management to eliminate potential wastage
To monitor the hygienic and safety processes of the Region
- Report via checklists on the following of safety requirements and standards in all activities
- Take action on non-compliance to hygiene and safety requirements
- Communicate new regulations or changes in hygiene and safety requirements
- Inspect all butchery equipment and take action on reported or identified problems
- Highlight risks related to hygiene and safety, and take appropriate mitigating actions
To drive and manage all promotional activities in the Region
- Stay abreast of competitor promotions and prices
- Plan and drive promotions for Region
- Adapt promotions according to seasonal needs
- Ensure consistent availability of promotional stock
- Ensure availability of promotional material and posters in Region
- Negotiate specials with suppliers
- Research competitor-prices and special offers
To report on all sales activities of and complete administrative duties for the Region
- Draw up proposed regional budget and present to the Divisional Manager
- Report on expenses
- Report monthly on sales results
- Complete checklists and forms as required
- Run monthly meetings with Divisional Managers in order to discuss and report on all regional sales activities
- Provide accurate data on Butchery activities as and when required
What you bring
- Grade 12 or equivalent (essential)
- 2+ years management experience in the Meat Industry inclusive of butchery operational experience – (essential)
- 2+ years meat cutting experience – (preferred).?
- Knowledge of Meat Market hygiene and safety standards – (essential)
- Knowledge of meat cuts/products – (essential)
