Job summary

Shoprite Group of Companies in the Western Cape seeks a regional butcher manager for an 8-month contract. You will oversee and maintain quality across the region, driving stock control, promotions, and sales reporting while managing people and supporting operational efficiency.

The role requires strong knowledge of hygiene and safety standards in meat operations and proven leadership experience within the meat industry.

Qualifications

• 2+ years management experience in the Meat Industry including butchery operations.
• 2+ years meat cutting experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Meat Market hygiene and safety standards essential.
• Knowledge of meat cuts/products essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor quality of activities and products across the region.
• Manage regional stock levels and ensure FIFO and stock rotation.
• Drive and coordinate promotional initiatives for the region.
• Monitor sales performance and report regional results.
• Handle people management functions and administrative duties for the region.
