Clientele Limited is seeking a Business Development Consultant: Strategic Partnerships to identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships that drive growth and expand the distribution footprint of Legal Insurance products.

The role focuses on building high-value relationships with partners, intermediaries, and distribution channels, supporting the end-to-end partnership lifecycle from onboarding to performance optimization and strategic growth initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 / Matric strictly required (Essential).
  • Tertiary qualification in Business Management, Marketing, Sales, Commerce or related field preferred.
  • FAIS Accreditation where applicable.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in Business Development, Strategic Partnerships, Relationship Management, Distribution or Sales in Insurance/Financial Services.
  • Proven ability to acquire, manage and grow strategic partnerships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and secure new strategic partnerships aligned with growth strategy.
  • Develop and execute partnership acquisition plans to expand market reach.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and executives within partner organizations.
  • Represent the business at industry events and partnership initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with strategic partners to maximize value.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with partners to strengthen collaboration.
  • Drive revenue growth through acquisition of new partnerships and optimization of existing relationships.
  • Coordinate product training, knowledge-sharing, and ongoing support for partners.
  • Monitor partnership performance against KPIs and implement improvement plans.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports on partnership performance, pipeline activity, and growth outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Marketing, Operations, Product and Compliance teams to align priorities.

Business Development Consultant: Strategic Partnerships

The Business Development Consultant: Strategic Partnerships is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic partnerships that drive sustainable growth and expand the distribution footprint of Legal Insurance products. The role focuses on building high-value relationships with key business partners, intermediaries, affinity groups, and distribution channels while ensuring mutual value creation, commercial success, and long-term engagement. The incumbent will support the end-to-end partnership lifecycle, including prospecting, onboarding, relationship management, performance optimization, and strategic growth initiatives to accelerate market penetration and revenue generation.

Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership Development
  • Identify, evaluate, and secure new strategic partnerships aligned with the Legal Insurance growth strategy.
  • Develop and execute partnership acquisition plans to expand market reach and increase business opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and executives within partner organizations.
  • Represent the business at industry events, networking forums, and partnership engagement initiatives.
Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with strategic partners to maximize commercial value and business performance.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and engagement sessions with partners to strengthen collaboration and identify growth opportunities.
  • Ensure a high level of partner satisfaction through proactive engagement and service excellence.
Business Growth & Revenue Enablement
  • Drive revenue growth through the acquisition of new partnerships and the optimization of existing relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop customized value propositions that meet partner and customer needs.
  • Support the implementation of sales and growth initiatives to achieve business targets.
Partnership Support & Implementation
  • Facilitate the onboarding and integration of new strategic partners.
  • Coordinate product training, knowledge-sharing sessions, and ongoing support to ensure partner capability and effectiveness.
  • Assist partners with operational, process, product, and system-related queries.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues impacting partnership performance and customer experience.
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor partnership performance against agreed commercial objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Assist with corrective plans on underperforming partnerships and implement corrective action plans.
  • Drive initiatives designed to improve partner engagement, productivity, retention, and profitability.
Reporting & Business Insights
  • Prepare weekly / monthly reports on partnership performance, pipeline activity, and growth outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Legal Strategic Team, Marketing, Operations, Product, and Compliance teams to deliver partnership objectives.
  • Facilitate alignment between internal business priorities and partner expectations.
  • Support the development and execution of strategic business initiatives and campaigns.
  • Contribute to the achievement of broader business development and organizational goals.
Compliance & Governance
  • Promote ethical business practices and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  • Grade 12 / Matric (Essential)
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management, Marketing, Sales, Commerce, or related field (preferred)
