Job summary

Commrisk Insurance Brokers is creating a new Partnership Development Manager role based in Johannesburg, with national travel as required. You will own three established partnership relationships and drive annual GWP growth, retention and new business origination.

Reporting to the Managing Director with CEO-level visibility, you will shape this newly defined function, negotiate terms, and coordinate with underwriting and claims to deliver measurable commercial results.

Responsibilities

• Single-threaded ownership of an established portfolio of three commercial insurance partnerships across distinct industry sectors.
• Deliver against agreed annual GWP growth targets with full accountability for net income to Commrisk.
• Retain and defend at-risk partnerships, including those subject to competitive tender or review.
• Build and convert a qualified pipeline of new partnership opportunities and onboard new partners to meet acquisition targets.
• Structure and negotiate terms for new partnerships, including economics, exclusivity and service model design.
• Coordinate internal delivery across underwriting, claims and administration to ensure high-quality service.
• Report partnership performance to the MD/CEO on a cadence with clear, measurable results.

Commrisk Insurance Brokers is a specialist short-term insurance group with an established commercial insurance partnership portfolio spanning multiple industry sectors — including transport and logistics, asset finance and property management.

We are creating a new role — and we are looking for someone exceptional to fill it.

Until now, no single person has carried end-to-end accountability for our partnership relationships and their commercial results. The Partnership Development Manager will be the first — owning each existing partnership from relationship management and commercial performance through to growth, retention and new business origination.

This is a role for someone who takes a number and owns it.

What You Will Be Stepping Into

• Single-threaded ownership of an established portfolio of three commercial insurance partnerships across distinct industry sectors.
• A clear commercial mandate with agreed annual targets for GWP growth, new partner acquisition, retention and net income performance.
• Active retention priorities across the existing portfolio, requiring commercial credibility, relationship depth and the ability to perform under pressure.
• Direct accountability to the Managing Director, with CEO-level visibility on results.
• The opportunity to shape a newly defined function — with the autonomy, executive support and resources to perform.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the single accountable owner of all existing partner relationships, with a structured cadence of joint business planning, service reviews and commercial reporting.
• Deliver against agreed annual GWP growth targets across the partnership book, with full accountability for net income to Commrisk — not just top-line premium.
• Retain and defend at-risk partnerships, including those subject to competitive tender or review.
• Build and convert a qualified pipeline of new partnership opportunities, and onboard new partners in line with the agreed annual acquisition target.
• Structure and negotiate terms for new partnerships, covering economics, exclusivity and service model design.
• Coordinate internal delivery across underwriting, claims and administration to ensure partners receive a consistent, high-quality service experience.
• Report partnership performance to the MD and CEO on an agreed cadence, with clear and measurable results.
