Project A Recruitment (S And A Project Management) is seeking a hands-on leader to manage a busy operational branch in Mthatha. The role focuses on guiding a team of about 20 staff, delivering excellent service, and proactively developing new business within Mthatha and neighbouring areas.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an individual who is confident managing a busy operational environment while actively developing new business opportunities within the Mthatha and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead a team of approximately 20 operational staff
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the branch, ensuring efficient service delivery and operational standards are maintained
• Drive new business development and identify opportunities to grow the branch’s customer base
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients
• Conduct regular client visits and actively develop business opportunities within Mthatha and surrounding areas
• Ensure customer service levels are consistently maintained
• Monitor operational performance and address issues effectively
• Motivate, manage and develop the operational team
• Contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the branch

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a courier, logistics, freight, transport or related environment
• Proven experience managing a team, ideally within an operational environment
• Strong business development and sales ability
• Confident in cold calling, client visits and developing new business
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work independently and make decisions in a challenging and fast-paced environment
• Must be confident visiting clients and developing business within Mthatha and surrounding areas
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a large operational team
• A valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle would be advantageous
