Job summary

Sanlam Developing Markets [SDM], a subsidiary of Sanlam, seeks a Branch Manager to grow customer base and revenue through strategic leadership of the Retail Mass segment in South Africa. You will guide Sales Consultants, drive service excellence, and ensure compliant branch operations while collaborating with HR on talent development.

The role requires 5+ years in insurance with leadership experience, CPD compliance, and credentials such as RE1/RE5 and Class of Business.

Qualifications

• Matric and recognised wealth/insurance credentials are required.
• RE1/RE5 registrations and Class of Business accreditation are mandatory.
• CPD compliance for current and past cycles is required.
• At least 5 years in the industry with 3 years in leadership.
• Experience in service management and insurance sales is essential.

Responsibilities

• Grow the customer base and revenue of Sanlam Retail Mass through strategy execution.
• Guide and standardise activities of Sales Consultants in the branch.
• Lead service delivery culture to create an optimal client experience.
• Oversee day‑to‑day branch management and business planning.
• Ensure sales delivery, compliance, quality, and risk management.
• Collaborate with HR on talent management and development.
• Plan monthly sales/service activities and report results.
• Engage internal and external stakeholders to build relationships.
