Skillnet Recruitment is seeking a driven Branch Manager to lead its Moorreesburg branch in the Western Cape. You will steer day-to-day operations, drive sales growth, manage stock, and ensure excellent customer service while meeting targets.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong relationship-building with farmers and retailers, and a focus on profitability, budgeting, and compliance with health and safety standards. You will manage a small team and report to head office weekly.

Competenze

• Matric (Grade 12) is mandatory.
• 3–5 years in branch or sales leadership.
• Proven sales track record and target achievement.
• Experience leading a team.
• Understanding stock control, budgets, debtors and branch profitability.
• Computer literate with MS Office (Excel & Outlook).
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans (spoken and written).
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Clean criminal record.
• Contactable references.

About the company

A well-established South African manufacturer of water storage and plastic products is looking for a driven, hands-on Branch Manager to lead its branch in Moorreesburg. This is an opportunity for a results-driven leader who enjoys sales, building customer relationships and running a branch efficiently.

Purpose of the role

To manage the branch’s day-to-day operations, grow sales in the area and lead the branch team so that customers get excellent service and the branch meets its sales and profit targets.

Key responsibilities

Sales and business development

• Grow branch sales and meet monthly and annual targets.
• Build and keep strong relationships with customers in the area, including farmers, contractors, plumbers, hardware stores and resellers.
• Find and develop new business opportunities and markets.
• Visit customers, prepare quotations and negotiate pricing within approved limits.
• Keep track of competitor activity and local market trends.

Branch operations

• Manage the branch’s day-to-day operations, including sales, stock, dispatch and deliveries.
• Make sure stock is controlled properly, including regular stock counts, ordering and keeping stock losses low.
• Coordinate deliveries and logistics so orders go out on time.
• Make sure company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements are followed.
• Look after the branch premises, vehicles and equipment.

People management

• Lead, motivate and manage the branch team.
• Allocate duties, set performance targets and do regular performance reviews.
• Handle staff training, leave planning, discipline and grievances in line with company policy and labour law.
• Build a positive, customer-focused team culture.

Financial management and reporting

• Manage the branch budget, expenses and profitability.
• Monitor debtors and credit control, and follow up on outstanding accounts.
• Make sure cash handling and banking procedures are followed.
• Send accurate weekly and monthly sales, stock and performance reports to head office.

Minimum requirements

• Matric (Grade 12).
• At least 3–5 years’ experience in a branch management, sales management or similar leadership role.
• A proven sales track record with evidence of meeting targets.
• Experience managing and leading a team.
• A good understanding of stock control, budgets, debtors and branch profitability.
• Computer literate: MS Office (especially Excel and Outlook).
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans (spoken and written).
• A valid driver’s licence.
• A clean criminal record.
• Contactable references from previous employers.

Advantageous

• Experience in the manufacturing, building supplies, agricultural, plumbing, irrigation or hardware industries.
• A tertiary qualification in sales, business management or a related field.
• Experience on an ERP or accounting system such as Sage (Pastel), Sage Evolution or similar.
• Knowledge of the Swartland area and its customer base.
• Living in or near Moorreesburg, or willing to relocate.
