Placements24 is seeking a Blockchain Platform Engineer in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, ZA to build and maintain core infrastructure for our blockchain solutions.

You will ensure reliability, scalability, and security of networks and services, collaborating with dev teams to deploy new features and protocols while maintaining documentation and incident reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer/ Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or DevOps with at least 2 years in blockchain infra.
• Understanding of blockchain concepts, consensus mechanisms, and network protocols.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization.
• Scripting in Python, Bash, or Go; familiarity with CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage blockchain node infrastructure and network configurations.
• Develop and maintain monitoring, deployment, and automation tools for blockchain platforms.

• Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS) and network security principles.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience managing distributed systems and high-availability environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
