Placements24 is seeking a Senior Blockchain Platform Engineer in Sandton to design, build, and scale the core blockchain infrastructure powering our decentralized applications. You will ensure reliability, performance, and security while collaborating with development and operations teams in a hybrid work setup.

The role requires hands-on experience with node operations, IaC (Terraform/Ansible), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience building and managing blockchain infrastructure with node operations.
• IaC with Terraform/Ansible and containerization using Docker/Kubernetes.
• Strong cloud knowledge (AWS/Azure/GCP) and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable blockchain infrastructure and platforms.

This role, situated in the bustling financial district of Sandton, Gauteng , is crucial for building, maintaining, and scaling the underlying platform that powers our decentralized applications. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our blockchain infrastructure, collaborating closely with development and operations teams. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable blockchain infrastructure and platforms.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for blockchain applications and services.

• Ensure the security and integrity of the blockchain platform, including access control and vulnerability management.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer, with a strong focus on blockchain technologies.
• Experience building and managing blockchain infrastructure, including node operations and network management.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with CI/CD tools and best practices.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Knowledge of blockchain concepts, protocols, and security principles.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
