Placements24 in Benoni is seeking a Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer to optimize production lines, reduce waste, and implement advanced manufacturing techniques on the shop floor.

You will analyze processes, design equipment, troubleshoot issues, and lead Lean/Six Sigma projects with the operations excellence team. The role emphasizes collaboration, safety, and delivering high-quality components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• At least 3 years in a manufacturing engineering role.
• Strong understanding of machining, welding, and assembly processes.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar.
• Proficient CAD for fixtures and tooling.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Effective production floor communication and teamwork.
• Knowledge of automation and robotics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize existing manufacturing processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing equipment and tooling.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues on the production line.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure product specifications are met.
• Oversee the installation and validation of new machinery.
