Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly organized and creative Banqueting & Events Manager for a premier hotel in Nelspruit. The role blends on-site coordination with off-site client engagement, acting as the main contact to ensure flawless event execution and satisfaction for clients.

You will plan, organize and manage weddings, corporate events, conferences and private parties, coordinating with kitchen, AV, F&B and housekeeping to meet hotel standards while maintaining profitability and strong

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in event planning, banqueting or hospitality management
• Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously from conception to completion
• Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Experience with event budgeting and cost control
• Familiarity with AV equipment and event setup logistics
• Degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management or related field preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and execute weddings, corporate functions, conferences and private parties
• Liaise with clients from inquiry to post-event follow-up, delivering customized event solutions
• Develop event proposals, menus, floor plans and timelines with meticulous detail
• Coordinate with hotel departments to ensure seamless event execution
• Manage event budgets, control costs and drive profitability
• Oversee setup and breakdown of event spaces to meet client specs and hotel standards
• Conduct site inspections and client meetings showcasing facilities in Nelspruit
• Address issues during events with swift, effective resolutions
• Stay updated on event industry trends and best practices
