Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Banqueting and Events Director in Pretoria to lead the venue’s banqueting and events division. You will plan and execute high-profile events, manage a dedicated team, and drive revenue while ensuring service excellence.

You will oversee proposals, menus, and floor plans, coordinating with kitchen, F&B, and AV to deliver flawless events. Strong leadership, budgeting, and client relationship skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in banqueting and event management.
• At least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex events simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of event planning, logistics, catering, and AV requirements.
• Excellent financial management skills, including budgeting and cost control.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software.
• A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability of the banqueting and events department.
• Oversee the planning and execution of all events, from initial client contact to post-event follow-up.
• Manage and lead the banqueting and events team, ensuring high standards of service and performance.
• Create detailed event proposals, menus, and floor plans tailored to client needs.
• Coordinate closely with other hotel departments, including kitchen, F&B, and audiovisual, to ensure flawless event delivery.
• Manage event budgets, control costs, and ensure adherence to financial targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards across all event spaces.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in event management.
• Conduct post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement and gather client feedback.
