Placements24 in Centurion is seeking an experienced Banquets and Events Manager to lead planning, coordination and execution of all banquet and event functions.

You will handle client engagement, proposals, contracts, and budgets, coordinating with catering and operations teams to ensure flawless execution and profitability. The role demands strong organizational, negotiation and communication skills, with flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in banquets or event management, preferably within a hotel setting.
• Experience in planning and executing a variety of event types.
• Excellent understanding of event logistics, catering, and AV requirements.
• Strong negotiation, sales, and client relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple events simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required by event schedules.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of banquet and event planning from initial client contact to post-event follow-up.
• Develop event proposals, contracts, and detailed BEOs (Banquet Event Orders).
• Coordinate with clients, sales teams, culinary, and banqueting staff to ensure successful event execution.
• Oversee event setup, service, and breakdown, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Manage event budgets, track expenses, and ensure profitability targets are met.
• Conduct site inspections and client meetings to showcase venue capabilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during events promptly and efficiently.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in event management.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors to foster repeat business and referrals.
