Placements24 is seeking a creative Banquet Chef to join a premier catering team in Paarl. You will prepare and present high-quality dishes for large-scale banquets, coordinating with the Head Chef to ensure flawless service and guest satisfaction.

The role demands leadership, strong time management, and a passion for food safety. You will oversee kitchen operations during events, train junior staff, and adapt menus for diverse events in the Western Cape wine region.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Banquet Chef, Sous Chef, or Senior Chef de Partie.
• Strong culinary skills with a focus on large-scale food production and presentation.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management practices.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Team-oriented with good communication and leadership skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a range of dishes for large-scale banquets with high-quality presentation.
• Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and recipe development for banquet events.
• Manage food preparation schedules to ensure timely delivery of all courses.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, following food safety regulations.
• Supervise and train junior kitchen staff involved in banquet preparation and service.
• Monitor inventory of ingredients and supplies, reporting needs to Head Chef.
