Qualifications

• Recognized culinary qualification or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as Chef de Partie or similar, with significant banqueting/large-scale catering.
• Proficiency in various cooking techniques and cuisines suitable for events.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• HACCP knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items for banquets and events according to recipes and standards.
• Manage your station efficiently, ensuring on-time, high-quality dishes.
• Oversee junior kitchen staff and commis chefs in your section.
• Maintain hygiene, sanitation and food safety standards across the kitchen.
• Contribute to menu planning and recipe development for events.
• Assist with inventory management, stock rotation and waste minimization.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned and in good working order.
• Collaborate with other chefs and event management teams.
• Adapt to changing event needs and last-minute changes.
• Uphold the company’s reputation for exceptional culinary experiences at Durban events.
