Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Automation Systems Technician in Centurion, Gauteng. The role covers installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and SCADA systems to ensure seamless automated processes for diverse clients.

Occasional travel to client sites is expected in a hybrid role based in Centurion. The ideal candidate will have a National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field, with at least 4 years of hands-on

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on experience with industrial automation systems.
• Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting PLC platforms (Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Omron).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA software (WinCC/FactoryTalk View/Ignition).

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission automation hardware and software, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial networks.
• Perform regular maintenance and diagnostic checks on automated systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to automation control systems.
• Develop, modify, and test PLC logic and HMI interfaces to meet operational requirements.
• Work with robotic systems, including programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with engineering teams during design and development phases.
