Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Automation Technician in Centurion, Gauteng to maintain and improve automated production systems. You will troubleshoot, repair, and optimize robotics, PLCs, HMIs, and control systems to maximize uptime and efficiency.

The role requires a national diploma or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, automation, or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant technical field.
• 3+ years in automation/industrial manufacturing environment.
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated machinery (robotics, PLCs, HMIs, vision systems).
• Perform preventative maintenance on automation equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and software issues in control systems.
• Read and interpret schematics and PLC logic; collaborate with engineering on new solutions.
• Ensure safety compliance; document maintenance and repairs; train operators/technicians.
