Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on experience with industrial automation systems.
• Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting PLC platforms (Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Omron).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA software (WinCC/FactoryTalk View/Ignition).

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission automation hardware and software, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial networks.
• Perform regular maintenance and diagnostic checks on automated systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to automation control systems.
• Develop, modify, and test PLC logic and HMI interfaces to meet operational requirements.
• Work with robotic systems, including programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

About the Role

Our client, a leading innovator in industrial automation solutions, is seeking a talented and motivated Automation Systems Technician to join their expanding team in Centurion, Gauteng. This pivotal role involves the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sophisticated automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and SCADA systems. While this role is primarily based in the Centurion, Gauteng region, occasional travel to client sites, both locally and nationally, will be required. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission automation hardware and software, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial networks.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with industrial automation systems.
• Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting various PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA software (e.g., WinCC, FactoryTalk View, Ignition).
• Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
• Knowledge of robotics programming and maintenance is a significant advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed and work flexible hours when required.
• Valid driver's license.
