Job summary
Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Automation Technician for a hybrid role in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The position combines on-site troubleshooting and maintenance with remote project work, focusing on automated production lines and control systems.
Ideal candidates will have a Diploma or National Certificate in Industrial Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology and at least 3 years’ experience with PLCs (Siemens/Allen-Bradley), HMIs, and SCADA.
Qualifications
- Diploma or National Certificate in Industrial Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with industrial automation systems, PLCs, and HMIs.
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control system logic, and troubleshooting methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems of automation equipment.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on automated machinery to reduce downtime.
- Analyze production data and system performance to identify improvements.
- Develop modifications to automation systems to meet production needs.
- Collaborate with engineers on design and integration of new automation solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
