Job summary

EdUpStairs requires a maintenance support professional to assist an Artisan in Swartland Hospital’s workshop and on-site maintenance tasks. You will support installations, machinery, and workshop tools, and participate in standby duties as needed.

The role emphasizes safety awareness, ability to read manuals, and teamwork to ensure reliable facilities service for hospital operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum educational qualification: Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Experience in at least one of welding, painting, carpentry and plumbing with general electrical knowledge.
• Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license.
• Willingness to work overtime and standby duties, including weekends and public holidays.
• Physically fit to handle heavy equipment and objects.
• Must be able to work at heights on ladders and scaffolding.
• Adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1993 and its regulations.
• Ability to read, write and follow written instructions and manuals.

Requirements

Minimum educational qualification: Grade 10 or equivalent.
Experience: Appropriate experience in at least one of these fields: welding, painting, carpentry, and plumbing with general electrical knowledge.
Inherent requirements of the job: Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license.
