Job summary

Clinix Botshelong-Empilweni Private Hospital requires an Artisan (Electrical) to monitor, maintain and manage the technical department. The role ensures availability of all hospital machinery and facilities, with responsibilities for electrical installations, maintenance and compliance with health, safety and OHS standards.

Requirements include an Electrical Diploma, National Trade Certificate, and a minimum of 5 years’ hospital maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily checks on hospital machinery and equipment to ensure they are working properly.
• Adhere to preventative maintenance schedules and recommend adjustments where needed.
• Ensure work aligns with job card instructions and safety protocols.
• Perform new electrical installations and upgrades on existing machinery and equipment.
• Carry out daily routine preventative maintenance checks.
• Ensure compliance with maintenance protocols and standards.
• Identify equipment deviations and report to hospital manager and line manager; arrange remedial actions.
• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring technical/mechanical failures.
• Ensure maintenance and operations adhere to machinery regulations and OHS Act.
• Draft and maintain the facility plan.
• Oversee repair, maintenance and installation of electrical machinery and equipment.
• Repair and maintain basic and industrial appliances.
• Oversee reticulation of the facility.
• Implement, monitor and control technical and maintenance processes per quality standards and governance requirements.

Reports to: Site Technical Manager

Job Summary:

To monitor, manage and maintain the technical department at a CHG hospital site. The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance of the equipment and facilities management and ensures the availability of all relevant machinery and equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements:

• Electrical Diploma.
• National Trade Certificate.

Minimum Experience:

• 5 years’ experience.
• Hospital experience is non-negotiable.

DELIVERABLES:

• Conduct daily checks on all hospital machinery and equipment to ensure all are working well.
• Adhere to preventative maintenance schedules and recommend adjustments / changes where applicable.
• Ensure that jobs are carried out as per job card instructions.
• Perform new electrical installations and upgrades on existing machinery and equipment.
