Job summary

PPC RDC in Dwaalboom, Limpopo, is seeking an Artisan Assistant B1 to support Boilermaker artisans in maintenance, repair, installation, and operating tasks. You will assist with daily technical tasks, prepare tools and materials, and help maintain a clean, safe work environment.

The role requires a Matric Certificate; a Boilermaker trade test is advantageous; drivers license and 2 years' related engineering experience preferred.

We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Artisan Assistant to support Boilermaker artisans in the execution of maintenance, repair, installation, and operational activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily technical tasks, preparing tools and materials, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and ensuring work is completed efficiently and in accordance with company standards and safety procedures.

Experience

• 2 years' experience in related engineering field

Duties and Responsibilities

• Execution of Maintenance - Conduct and assist with Mechanical/Electrical work which supports maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and installations of electrical equipment as per planned and un-planned work orders .Perform planned and un-planned maintenance activities in a timeous and cost effective manner to the correct standard. Provide feedback to the Technician/Electrician/Foreman on the execution of work for Continuous Improvement and for the enhancement of future planning. Maintain housekeeping standards.
• Operational Control - Ensure that Operational Best Practices (OBP) is adhered to. Complete intangible and tangible time booking accurately. Complete daily checklists for tools and areas of responsibility.
• Communication and Reporting - Participate meaningfully in the departmental INVOCOMs. Achieve engineering Key Performance Performance. Provide input into interdepartmental INVOCOMs. Report factors, incidents and accidents that pose a business risk. Adhere to SHE, legal, QMS), statutory and regulatory structures and frameworks and promote a culture of compliance.
• Governance and Risk Management - Adhere to SHE, legal, statutory and regulatory Minimise environmental non-conformances. Comply with disciplinary rules, regulations and procedures.
• Inventory Management - Minimise working material Contractor Management - Interact professionally with external service providers and contractors as required.
