Job summary

The HEINEKEN Company in Worcester is seeking a maintenance-focused technician to assist artisans with installations, preventive maintenance, and steam generation operations. You will stand in as Boiler Operator when needed and help ensure accurate meter readings and safe procedures.

You must have a Grade 12, technical exposure (NTC 2 advantageous), and relevant maintenance experience. A Code 08 licence is essential, with forklift and Code 10 licences advantageous.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 completed.
• NTC 2 in a technical field is advantageous.
• Experience in maintenance/engineering support or civil environments.
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence is essential.
• Forklift licence is advantageous.
• Code 10 driver’s licence is advantageous.
• Welding experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of maintenance practices and safe work procedures.
• Ability to complete inspection sheets and maintenance records.
• Medically and physically fit for the role.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to work overtime, standby, shifts and irregular hours.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Assist Artisans with installations, maintenance activities and steam generation operations.
• Carry out preventative maintenance tasks according to schedules.
• Support maintenance planning and provide feedback on work.
• Stand in as Boiler Operator when required and competent.
• Perform routine water and electrical meter readings and record data.
• Conduct monthly safety inspections and ensure safe procedures.
• Perform general maintenance including bricklaying, tiling, plumbing, painting, welding, rigging.
• Follow SOPs and maintenance standards.
• Participate in TPM and continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain high housekeeping in workshop and surrounding areas.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Perform ad-hoc duties and provide operational support as required.

Job description

• Assist Artisans with installations, maintenance activities, and steam generation operations.
• Carry out preventative maintenance tasks according to maintenance schedules.

• Perform routine water and electrical meter readings and accurately capture the information on the relevant systems and records.
• Conduct monthly safety inspections and promote compliance with safe working procedures.
• Perform general maintenance work, including bricklaying, tiling, plumbing, painting, welding, rigging, and related maintenance activities.
• Operate in accordance with standard operating procedures and established maintenance standards.
• Actively participate in TPM activities (Continuous Improvement)
• Maintain high housekeeping standards within the workshop and surrounding work areas.
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Perform ad-hoc duties and provide operational support as required.

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications, experience, skills and attributes:

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
• NTC 2 in a technical field will be highly advantageous.
• Relevant experience in a maintenance, engineering support, or civil environment.
• Valid Code 08 driver's licence is essential.
• Forklift licence will be advantageous.
• Code 10 driver's licence will be advantageous.
• Welding experience and skills will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of maintenance practices, health and safety requirements, and safe work procedures.
